Leather from 1945
Rizzi is an historical name in the raw, wet blue and semi-finished leather business. The activity of Rizzi Pellami company is strictly related to the work of Mr. Francesco Rizzi, its founder, born the 26th January 1921. He founded his individual company in 1945, the Franco Rizzi Pelli Grezze (Raw Leather). He knew the business when he was young because he has worked in his grandfather’s tannery in Lungadige Panvinio (Verona) since his graduation, then he collaborated with his father in law, who has a tannery in San Giovanni Lupatoto (Verona).
His business became stronger because of his founder’s dedication and initiative who has travelled the world looking for unknown leather origins. He funded lots of workers who became successful entrepreneurs in the Chiampo’s area which was a fertile ground for the industrializations in those days.
Thanks to Mr. Rizzi’s entrepreneurship and trade intuition more of these companies are now leaders of their markets and they are managed from their third generation, but in the founders’ memory Mr. Rizzi Francesco was who believed in them, who funded them with no warranties, just with the trust of a handshake.
The Franco Rizzi Pelli Grezze (Raw Leather) has great business and it remained an individual company until the 1980, when the Rizzi Pellami Spa was founded and continued its business, becoming bigger and bigger in the different markets. In the 80’s and 90’s it grew even more and it bought a big building in Montorio Veronese, an important tannery which is today a leather warehouse and it also lease real estate spaces.

It is maintaining his founder values and ideals which have been transmitted to its actual owner and managers that is the third generation of the Rizzi’s family.
The headquarter is in Montorio which has a 15.000 sqm warehouse. There also are years-long, strong collaborations with partners in Montebello Vicentino and Arzignano which are in charge of the materials storage, of the process decisions and quality control.
Rizzi Pellami, during its years of activity, has always been a company with ethical and moral values which have been transmitted by its founder and president. It has always respected its commercial commitments, in fact it has the maximum trust of its suppliers and it has a respectable name among its clients and who work in the same field. It has fulfilled all the financial and fiscal investments keeping a prestigious and respectable name in bank institutions; it always worked with accountant, mayors, and professionals of the first order in the town to maintain a correct fiscal managing.
